Hash Bash Ann
Arbor
Cannabis-Friendly Policy
Verified guidelines for consumption and access on-site.
Cannabis consumption openly practiced at the rally. Ann Arbor has had progressive cannabis policies since 1972. Post-legalization, the event is a full celebration. Must be 21+ for vendor expo.

The legendary annual cannabis rally on the University of Michigan campus, running continuously since 1972 — making it America's longest-running marijuana freedom event. Every first Saturday in April, 10,000+ attendees gather on the Diag for speeches, music, and open celebration. The expo at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds features 200+ vendors. Ann Arbor famously reduced its cannabis fine to $5 in 1972 (now $25), making this city a pioneering cannabis-friendly community decades before legalization.

52 years of Hash Bash and it's still going strong. The energy on the Diag is electric — students, old-timers, families all celebrating together. A piece of American cannabis history.
Great event but it gets crowded fast. The expo is worth it for the vendor deals alone. Bring cash. The campus setting is beautiful in early April.
